Recreating the Timeless Mystique of a Thousand Years Together with Korea’s master artisans, we preserve and evolve our cultural heritage.

In 1998, I founded an IT company with a mission to improve the world through technology, and today, we operate in more than 90 countries around the globe. Throughout this journey, I have been focused on two key questions.

The first is how to enhance the global competitiveness of Korean companies. To address this, I’ve worked to create new markets and sustainable business models. The second is the relationship between digital and analog. While digital mimics reality in virtual form, I’ve often yearned for the comfort of analog and sought to create physical spaces that bring ease and tranquility to people.

With this aspiration, I turned my attention to hanok, the symbol of traditional Korean architecture. Hanok is a space where nature and humanity exist in harmony, and it is one of Korea’s most valuable architectural assets. Determined to modernize hanok, which had remained stagnant without further evolution, I devoted myself to this goal. After 12 years of research and development, I created ‘The Hanok Heritage House’ to showcase the unparalleled value of hanok and to lead its evolution.

“The Hanok Heritage House” is the realization of a space I envisioned and brought to life after learning architectural design as an architect. To overcome the challenges of wood drying, we developed proprietary technology and explored every corner of Korea to find the ideal location that embodies the true value of hanok. Finally, we discovered the perfect site in Yeongwol, a place surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes. The river gracefully curves in a 300-degree arc, and the mountains, layered like a natural masterpiece, form a panoramic view. We designed the hanok so that its beauty harmonizes with nature, allowing it to be appreciated fully from every angle.

“The Hanok Heritage House” aims to offer an experience where humanity and nature come together in harmony, creating a space where guests can connect with nature while enjoying warm hospitality and true relaxation. This is just the beginning—we plan to build hanok in global cities like New York and Paris, elevating Korea’s traditional architecture as a global cultural asset. We will continue our relentless efforts to ensure that hanok remains a cultural legacy, even a thousand years from now.

As the leader of K-Architecture, I hope to see hanok shine as a beacon of cultural value across the world.
